TJ Shirley joined Meco in Retail Sales at our Greenville, SC location in June 2023. This has allowed him to gain knowledge on the equipment side of the C-store business, as he had worked in the oil and gas industry previously. Coming to Meco brought a challenge, as he was used to being the one called and asked for advice. However, now he is having to lean on others’ knowledge while he learns this side of the industry. Team Meco is his favorite part of Meco. From the outstanding installation team to the amazing service team, he knows his customers are in great hands should anything go awry.
His favorite project has been One Stop Shop located in Bowman, GA. He was able to share his experiences of running a successful chain of C-stores, getting a jobber, and his knowledge of Georgia EPD with the owners as that was the owners first experience owning a gas station. They have been pumping for a few months with their Meco installed equipment and have been embraced by the town of Bowman.
His favorite quotes come from his time spent as a member of the United States Marine Corp. Semper Fidelis “always faithful” and Honor, Courage, Commitment are the words he lives by. In his free time, he enjoys almost all sports. If he had his way, college football would be all year long. He enjoys cheering on the Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves. He also enjoys golfing and gardening. He thought about pursuing a career in horticulture and therefore can still identify a lot of the native trees, flowers, and grasses. As he looks toward the future, he states he would like to spend a summer in Alaska, become mayor of Pendleton, SC, and be elected to the SC State Senate.
